Morning. Video marketing is becoming more and more important online. If you truly want to reap the benefits of video marketing to start, grow or scale your business, here are the first tips you’re going to want to follow.
Many businesses assume in order for a video to be successful, it needs to go viral. This really isn’t true. While yes, it would significantly boost your personal brand or your business brand success if a video were to go viral, But it is in my experience not a necessity in order for your video to generate good results as part of your marketing strategy.
Here are some of the best tips for creating a successful marketing video to grow and scale your business.
1) Make sure your message is clear.
One of the most important tips you can follow is to ensure the message of your video is clear. There are two ways to do this.
Firstly, it’s imperative you understand the goal of the video. If you don’t know the purpose of the video’s content, your audience definitely isn’t going to! So, establish why you’re producing and distributing the video and what you hope to achieve from it.
Secondly, you need to make sure you’re focusing on just one message. For example, if your video is about your company, stick to purely talking about that. Don’t delve into the different products, focus on providing company information. Similarly, if your video is about a solution, a product or a service, ensure you only talk about that topic and not your personal or your company background.
2) Be sure to add unique selling points at the start of the video
It’s well-known that most videos lose the majority of their viewers early on. Even shorter videos will fail to hold every viewer’s interest right until the end if they are not well designed and scripted. Therefore, it makes sense to ensure any unique selling point(s) are referred to early on in the video.
You can then move on to adding supporting information later in the video if there is room and time for that. Doing it this way also increases the chances you’ll hook the viewer in.
3) Consider the video platform or video platforms you’ll be using
When creating your video’s content, you really need to be aware of where you’ll be posting it. Different platforms require a slightly different tone, theme and message. Without paying attention to this, you could find your video delivers very few results. Instagram has for instance a completely different audience then Facebook and LinkedIn is an all together different beast as part of target audiences are concerned.
So research the different platforms and decide which one is best for your brand, given your targetgroup, your unique value proposition and your solution. Then, focus on creating content with a focused content marketing strategy to your content with your targetaudience.
There are so many factors you need to consider in order to create a successful marketing video. The above is just a small selection but you’ll notice significant results following just those tips alone.
